“He was chosen before the creation of the world.” That line from 1 Peter stops us in our tracks, because it says redemption was not God’s emergency response, it was always the plan. We read 1 Peter 1:18–23 and follow the thread where it actually leads: not to silver, not to influence, not to tradition, but to the precious blood of Jesus Christ and the living Word of God that stands forever.

We also speak plainly about religion and performance. Lent, labels, denominations, movements, money, and celebrity platforms cannot produce the new birth. Being born again does not come from a preacher’s personality or a church’s stagecraft; it comes from God through Jesus Christ. We connect the language of the “lamb without blemish” to the Passover story in Exodus, and we talk about faith versus sight, why we struggle to believe what we cannot measure, and why Scripture was written for our sake so we can truly see.

Then we come to the table, pray the Lord’s Prayer, and take communion with gratitude for Christ’s broken body and the cup of redemption. We open 1 Peter 1:18–23 and keep it simple: salvation is not bought with silver and gold, but given through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We challenge religious performance and online church spectacle, then come to communion and prayer with a call to follow Jesus first.
