Are We Living in Babylon? A UK Perspective from Daniel 3
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
From a powerful Sunday service in London, this episode dives deep into Daniel chapter 3, asking a question that feels more relevant than ever: are we living in a modern-day Babylon?
We explore the story of Nebuchadnezzar, the golden image, and the moment where Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are forced to choose between cultural pressure and faith in God. The command is clear: bow or burn. But their response echoes through history — “Our God is able to save us… but even if He does not, we will not bow.”
This message connects the ancient kingdom of Babylon with modern life in the UK, where pressure can come through workplaces, schools, culture, finances, and social expectations. Idolatry today may not look like statues, but it shows up in money, status, property, pride, and the need for approval.
At the centre of this message is the powerful image of the fiery furnace — not just as a place of testing, but as a place of encounter. When the king looks into the fire, he sees not three, but four. God is present in the fire.
If you are feeling pressure to compromise your faith, stay silent, or fit in, this episode is a reminder that:
- You do not have to bow
- You are not alone
- God is able — and God is with you
This is real faith for real life — whether you are at home, at work, in school, or facing unseen battles.
Listen now, share with someone who needs encouragement, and stand firm in your faith.
Episode Highlights
- Understanding Babylon as a spiritual system of pride, control, and idolatry
- The decree to worship the golden image and its modern parallels

Life Application
Faith is not tested when it is easy — it is revealed when it costs something.
This message challenges you to look honestly at your life and ask:

Opening Daniel And Setting The Question
SPEAKER_00Let's turn to the old testament. Let's get straight into the book of Daniel, chapter three. We're in the book of Daniel, chapter three, and we're going to pick it up. It's such an enormous story. It's such an enormous story. I think we will pick it up. Let's go for around about verse 8. Verse 8. Let's pick it up in verse 8, Daniel chapter 3. And the title of uh the sermon this morning is Are We Living in a Modern Day Babylon? You know, are we living in a modern day Babylon? When you understand and you look and you study and see what Babylon was all about, and uh very interesting Bone. Remember Bony M. They they they created that really interesting piece of music by the rivers of Babylon, you know, in 1978, an international piece of music hit the UK charts, number one, for many, many weeks. But I wonder how many people realize that they were singing about the freedom from Babylon, coming from Psalm 137 and Psalm uh 19 by the rivers of Babylon, where we sat down. Very interesting piece of music that is. But as we're in the book of Daniel right now, and we're looking at the freedom from Babylon, and are we living in the modern day Babylon? Is the UK a modern day Babylon? When you see what Babylon represented, materialism, serving foreign gods, leadership that was completely anti-God. What type of leadership do we have in a nation? What type of leadership do we have in schools? What is Ofstead all about? What do they teach the children? What they bring into the children, what is the government bringing to the house? What is the government? Where do they believe? What do they believe in? How do they support? How do they walk with Israel? What is their understanding about the Jewish uh race at this moment in time when you see what's happening across London and what has been happening? So when you look at Babylon, I actually believe the UK is like a modern-day Babylon. When you see what's happening in amongst everything and what's breaking out, we're very, very uh enormous on idol worship, materialistic ways. We're always looking for the next fix, we're looking for the next house, the next bit of land, the new car, the bigger job. You know, just and when you look at the Babylonians and how they was, and King Nebuchadnezzar and what happened in that land, very, very interesting. He he went he went for who what happened. Very, very interesting that they set a law in the let's let's read it. Let's let's just read it and let's see what happens. So it's about a king, King Nebuchadnezzar, and it says in verse 8 of Daniel chapter 3, and at this time some astrologers came forward and denounced the Jews. When you think about that, they denounced the Jews. They said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live forever. You have issued a degree, O King, that anyone who hears the sound of the horn, the flute, uh, the xyla, the lyre, and the harp and the pipes, and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the image of gold. And the one who does not fall down and worship must be thrown into a blazing furnace. But some of the Jews, who you have set aside of your affairs of the province of Babylon, Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, who pay no attention to you, O king, neither they serve your gods, nor they worship the image of gold you have set up, furious with rage. Nebuchadnezzar, summon Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo. So these men were brought before the king, and King Nebuchadnezzar said to them, Is this true, Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, that you do not serve my gods and worship the images of gold I have set up? Now, when you hear the sound of the horn, the flute, the lyre, the harps, the pipes, and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I am made, very good. But if you do not worship it, then I will be thrown down and into a blaze of fiery furnace, and then what God will rescue you from that hand? Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo replied to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, King, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing fire, the God that we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hands, O King. But even if he doesn't, we want you to know, O King, we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up. Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo. His attitude towards them changed. Very interesting. He ordered the furry, uh, the fiery furnace to be heated up, hotted up, seven more times than usual, and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in the army to tie up Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo and throw them into the blazing furnace. So these men wearing their robes, trousers, tunics, uh, and other clothes were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. The king's command was urgent that the furnace was hot and the flames killed the soldiers who took Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo. And these three men, firmly tied up, fell into the blazing furnace. The king leaped to his feet in amazement and his advisors. Weren't there three men in this fire at this particular point? They replied, Certainly, O king. He said, Well, look, I see a fourth man walking around in the fire, unbound, unharmed, and the fourth looks like the son of God. Nebuchadnezzar then approached the open firing blazing furnace and shouted, Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, servants of the most high God, come out, come here. So Sam Shamrach, sorry, Meshach and Abendigo came out of the fire, and the satraps, the prefects, the governors, the royal advisors crowded around them, and they saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was their hair or their uh there was a sign that they was burnt, their robes were not scorched, and there was not a smell of fire on them. Then Nebuchadnezzar said, Praise be to God of Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants. They trusted in him and defied the king's command, and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve and worship the gods expected of their own God. When you look at these scriptures that we're in here, when you look at Babylon, very clearly and very simply, we understand that the king set up an idol, an idol of gold, an idol of worship, a place to worship. When you look at culture and society that we're in at this moment in time, you know, we worship cars, we worship homes, we worship the fabric of the building in which we live in, we worship uh the titles that we have over us. We the more money we have, the more proud we seem to become. The bigger the title that we have after our name. When you look at what Babylon represented, I really do believe that the UK is a very modern-day Babylon, that it's almost governed, governed by King Nebuchadnezzar. And we look at Darwinism as well. When you look at Darwinism, the survival of the fittest, that is a reflection of where we sit at this moment in time. When you look at humanity and where we sit, but when you look at Babylon back then, it was all about pride. When you look at what we got now, got gay pride. Oh, we can't say that over the pulpit, but I'm afraid he will. Gay pride. When you look at gay pride, when you look at that, the way they have taken the rainbow, when they have taken that and manipulated, and they've they've used the word pride. Pride was the biggest, is the biggest enemy to God. Pride is the biggest enemy. When you look at that, what it represents, how powerful pride is, and that's what King Nebuchadnezzar was all about. He wanted everyone to worship him, to look at him, to lift him up, to praise him, to fall down when the music would play. It sounds very familiar with certain leaders around the world. That leaders want to be worshipped around the world. They want to be seen to be gods, they want to be seen to bring him peace, they want to be seen to be to be the savior of the world. And when you look at certain governments in strategic places around the world, and then you analyze the government at number 10 Downing Street, King Nebuchadnezzar was completely an antichrist, completely against he had no favor over the Jews whatsoever. He was completely against certain areas of control and manipulation, and he was Babylon represented so much manipulation and control. It was such an unusual place to live. By the rivers of Babylon, we sat down. They found freedom through the Psalms. They found freedom in God. When you look at what Babylon represented, what Babylon was all about, King Nebuchadnezzar was leading Babylon. There was idols. Everything was happening, paganism, everything serving foreign gods. It's what we have in the UK today. We got gods, we worship the badge on the front of the car. Whatever the badge is on the car, the bigger the badge, the bigger the name. We worship the car, we worship the house, we worship the land, we worship the money, we we worship, we want notoriety, we want people to know who we are. When you look at what's going on and you look at number 10 Downing Street, are we living in the modern-day Babylon where we are expected not to worship the God of Israel? Because that's what King Nebuchadnezzar didn't want them to worship, he didn't want Meshach, Shamrach, and Abendigo to worship the God of Israel. He didn't want them praying, he didn't want them lifting up the God above all gods. He wanted he wanted those three Jewish boys, he wanted them extremely clearly, he wanted them to do something, and that was to worship the idol, the idol that they had created. He wanted them to worship the idol, the land, the notoriety, the system, the monarchy system, so to speak. He wanted them, he wanted the Jewish boys to worship them in everything they said and done. He didn't want them to pray, he didn't want them to worship God, he didn't want them to follow the God of Israel. Very, very interesting what was going on in Babylon at that point. Very powerful, very strong. You can't serve the God of Israel. Very interesting when you look at what's happening in London at the moment within the Jews, and when you look at this UK government, is the UK government for the Jews? I would say no. I would say no. And this has got nothing, no political drive whatsoever because it's scripture. And when you look at what's happening around the world, and when you see what's happening in Israel and how this government, particularly this government, sits with Israel, it's completely cut us away from Israel spiritually, it's completely made its marker in the sand where this government stands with Israel. King Nebuchadnezzar is alive and well at number 10 down in street. He's a persecutor of Christians. The government do not want you to live your Christian life, the government do not want you to progress in the belief of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They're stripping it out of education. When they're when those that swim across the channel, I've got to be careful, the swimmers that come across the channel, what they worship, when you see what happened in a certain area of London just a few days ago, where that man came from, his heritage and who he served and who he was with, you understand what I'm saying. So when you see the swimmers coming over the channel, it's not the human being, it's what you carry inside of you. You either carry God or you carry Lucifer. Fact. Fact. Either you serve the God of Israel or you serve Lucifer and the foreign gods of the world. So what we have today is a modern-day Babylon right here in the UK. Because we are allowed to serve foreign gods. The government wants you to serve foreign gods. They allow it, they progress it, they push it. See, King Nebuchadnezzar, earlier on in the text, he denounces the Jews. He doesn't want, he doesn't want, he doesn't want, he wants to erase all that stuff. He doesn't want that to go on. When you look at what happens through the text, it's very clear how he thinks and how he was thinking and moving towards that. And then you bring a parallel with the governments around the world, the governments around the world and certain demographics around the world. Are we living in a modern-day Babylon? Is the I would say the UK is just like Babylon. You can do what you like, you can worship who you like, you can be free to be whoever you want to be. And the biggest area of Babylon was pride. It was so prideful, it was materialistic, it was for serving foreign gods, for witchcraft, the occult, for materialism, it was for money over the God of Israel. King Nebuchadnezzar wanted to be worshipped. Number 10 wants to be worshipped. A certain gentleman with a certain tan, with a certain haircut, with a certain style, with a certain color tie across a certain nation, across the pond. He wants to be worshipped. He wants to be seen as the savior of the world. You have to look at the characters of these leaders, building idols for yourselves. In the book of Genesis, it talks very clearly. Genesis refers to Babylon that they built a tower. They wanted to build a tower to reach to the heavens above. This is what culture and society wants to do. It wants to bring itself in a line with the God of Israel. But we know what happened in uh in uh the Tower of Babel. God came down and he destroyed the Tower of Babel, and he bought confusion and he bought many languages. It's very interesting. The Tower of Babel. What was that representing? And what sits in a certain part of Europe and the way a certain area, and I've got to be so careful because of we've got to stay online what we say. But when you look at a certain building that is in Europe that is created, not quite completely finished, because it takes the same shape as the Tower of Babel, where certain politicians go and all that sort of stuff. So you can find it for yourself. It's very, very interesting. It is it is designed in an unfinished building. And what happened in the area of the Tower of Baal, it never got finished, it never got completed in that certain area of Europe right now where they all sit and they all do their, you know what they do in that building, and all the laws that they gather together. When you look at the structure of that, and then also outside the building of that certain building, they've got a certain animal that represents a certain animal within a certain book of the Bible. I've got to be so careful with staying online. Hallelujah in the name of Jesus. You look at what's happening. So even Europe at this moment in time, Babylon, Europe, right the way through Europe, right the way through the UK at this moment in time, when you look, who do we serve? The government says you can serve every other God, and they want to involve multi-faith. I will probably get in trouble. They want to involve multi-faith. Jesus says through the Old Testament, through the God of Israel, when you go into the Canaanite land, do not indulge in their foreign gods. So when you look at multi-faith, when you look at multi-faith, we see it a lot in chaplaincy. If you're a chaplain in in culture and society now, you will be pressed very hard to make sure that you are being found to be woven in all the different faiths around the world. And if you refuse to that, if you refuse to do that, as a certain person did standing before you, you can be offered your P45. Very clearly that you can't, the Bible, Jesus says through the Old Testament, God says through the Old Testament, when you go into that land, it's me you serve. It's me you serve. You don't indulge in in the other religions of the world, don't indulge in their foreign god worship. So when you look at what's coming across the channel and who they serve and what goes on, and you look at a certain area of life and news and you see what is happening, we are living definitely in a certain uh modern day Babylon where the satraps, the governors, when you look at a certain area of the European Union and certain areas of that, the laws that come out of a certain place, a certain tower, you know, when we was joined to a certain oh goodness gracious me, why don't you just say it? But I've got to be careful. You know, when there were certain laws coming across the channel, then we were involved, and you know what we're saying. You know, thank God that God's got his hand on this nation. This is not a political speech, this is a spiritual understanding that there is a certain building within Europe that is undone. When you look at that building the way that it looks, it is a tower to bow, and it is in a circle and a certain way and a certain build and a certain look. It's very, very interesting. And when you look at Europe, certain areas of Europe, what they serve and what they worship, gods and foreign gods, and in Asia as well, around Asia, and and and you look around the world. So when you look at our nation, you've got to look at our nation, and we got to see what's coming into the nation. We've never seen such migration around the world, a world migration like we've never seen it before. The Bible tells us very clearly about what is happening at this moment in time. So when we look at Babylon, when we see these scriptures here, Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, they were told basically, if you follow the God of Israel, it's curtains. If you follow the God of Israel, it's death, persecution, the persecuted church around the world. See, this is nothing new under the sun, what we hear about the persecuted church, what is happening. But Meshach, Shamrach, and Abednego went, our God is able. In the face of adversity, in the face of King Nebuchadnezzar in number 10 Downing Street, and the satraps and the prefects and the governors and the judges of the nation, you will find the laws that have been brought into this law are completely anti-Christ. Completely anti. And that's what King Nebuchadnezzar, his satraps, and everyone was trying to do. But it's very interesting the rest of the story of King Nebuchadnezzar, because in chapter four of the book that we're in, suddenly he is humbled, and suddenly we find that they all turn to serving the God of Israel. So number 10 Downing Street. What could happen? What could happen? See, when God moves, God moves. God moves, and no one's gonna stop God moving it. It always looks like the enemy is overplaying his hand. So when you look at a certain demographic in the nation, a certain understanding, and a certain rhythm it might be taken, and a certain social media rhythm that it is taken at this moment in time, that we are inundated with with these other world religions and all this this noise that's going on. What we forget, or what we can forget, is quite simply that we serve the God of Israel. And the nation that we are living in at this moment, known as the UK, the British Isles, England. What are we? We have lost our identity. How do you lose your identity? You use your you lose your identity simply by coming away from the word of God. So the UK has lost its identity. It is a sweet shot of religion. It is a sweetshot. It's like Sodom and Gomorrah. There's another text we could go to, but we can't because the time doesn't prevail. When you look at Sodom and Gomorrah, everything was allowed, everything was acceptable, everything, everything that was completely against God was fueled to do even more. Everything that was against the God of Israel, go and do it and indulge yourself in it. But what we have very clearly in this nation is pride. Yeah, he's gonna say it gay pride. Very strong, very aerial. You go into schools. How many toilets have we got in schools now? Oh Lord help me. I just want to use the Lul. Use the Lul, but I'm Not sure. Am I a man? My girl. Why in between? My cat and my dog. Have I got a little tray? Have I got a loaf? What shall I use today? See, the option is thrown out wide and far, but there is only two genders, male and female. The chromosome tells us very clearly you can't change it under the microscope. You can't change it through science. A strong subject. But when you look at Babylon, it was about pride. Pride was the one. Pride. And that's what we got in the nation, in culture, in life, society. The Bible says, if you want healing in your land, in your nation, something that is really powerful and very, very clear, what does it say? If my people will humble themselves and call on my name, I will heal their land. But when you got pride coming from leaders around the world, the nations are never going to find peace. When there is pride being led out of the trap, and you are told that you can go and live and do whatever you want to do, and you come away from instruction from the word of God. When you come out of instruction, then all hell breaks loose. Babylon is alive and well in the UK. You can serve foreign gods, you can worship anything you want to worship. And also amongst the Babylonian worshipping, you seem to find there is a lot of Darwinism still around. When you look at Darwinism and you look at what that survival of the fittest, I will trample on you and I will do whatever I'm gonna do to get to where I've got to get to. When you look at what's happening across the nation, you're not alert, loud, you know, when you look at what Christians, Christianity, when you look at this, you could put yourself in Meshach, Shamrach, and Abendigos position. You can't say nothing about God in many areas of work. You can't carry a Bible into certain schools, but you can carry a Quran or another holy book. You can't pray as a Christian, but if you're someone else of a certain demographic at a certain time, you can get your IKEA and Matt out and do what you gotta do. But if you're if you're a Bible-believing believer, if you are a Christian, you will find we are being persecuted in the land in which we live. A gentle rhythm of persecution. Because the governments are asking us to serve foreign gods, they're changing the way education is, they're changing the thinking of children, they're changing the thinking of parents, they're trying to get us to live however you want to live. It is a free way to live. When you live according to the government, to um the area of the satraps and the governors and the judges, when you live against, uh when I say when you live in and for certain policies that have come across the channel over many years, you can't serve the God of Israel, but you can serve all the gods of the world. You can be as flamboyant as you want to be, you can lift up the gods of the world, but if you are like Meshach, Shamrach, and Abendigo, you're gonna get persecuted. I really believe that the UK is in a position that we've never been in before. As in, if you are a Bible-believing believer, regardless of church, you know, you are finding that your life is being persecuted. Your life is being restricted because you believe in the God of Israel, you believe in the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Because Babylon is alive and well. Babylon is is functioning right now before our very eyes. Materialism. One world governments, one world orders. When you look at what's happening around the world, one monetary system coming together, one army being forged around the world, one leader being forged around the world. You look at what's happening, and within the UK, we've got a Babylonian government. We got a government that is not for Jesus Christ in any way, shape, or form. We've got a government that is for every other foreign God. You've only got to see what happened in a certain area of London, you know, just a few days ago, how their response was after the event, rather than after the event, it should have been before everything that has gone on. You understand because we're treading on a very thin line at this moment in time. So when you see what has gone on in a certain area of London just a few days ago, and before with a certain amount of ambulances that was, you know, all that sort of stuff, when you look at that Jewish community, when you look at the Jews and you go right the way back through the orthodox, go right the way back last week, the scriptures that we were in, the scriptures that we were in last week, it showed us very clearly that over 3,100 and X amount of years, we see the persecution and we see that Israel had to fight for every breath. So nothing has changed under the sun. Israel has always had to stand on its own. Don't be fooled by certain leaders around the world that think that it looks like they're shaking hands with Israel and they want to be involved with Israel. One of them wants a golf course down the Gaza Strip, and you know who that'll be. They want to turn it into a Las Vegas, they want to turn it around. And they're interested in the land and what it represents and everything that runs with it. But Israel will stand on its own. We must be extremely close to when suddenly we hear that certain leaders, we we know where the government, the UK government, stand very clearly with Israel, it has cut the umbilical cord loud and clear. This is why we've got so much trouble in the UK. And the church, and uh you know what I say about the church? I'm talking about the leaders. The leaders have run for the hills. Goliath has come out, and the leaders within the church, every denomination have run for the hills. It's very interesting what's going on. We are living in the modern-day Babylon. Every other God can be lifted up, every other God can be worshipped. Pride, you're allowed to have pride all the way through. You can be arrogant, you can do what you like, but if you serve the God of Israel, if you tell the world that you believe in the God of Israel at school, at work, in certain ivory towers and in certain corporate areas, you can't serve God, the God of Israel, but you can serve every other God, and the corporation will help you to serve the foreign gods. The government will help you and endorse you to serve foreign gods in this nation. But if you want to tell the world that you're a Jesus lover and go and stand in the center of London with a cross, before you know it, you'll be marched out. But you can lift the flag, you can lift the certain flag. I won't say the flag, don't say the Palestinian flag, whatever you do. But you cannot lift the cross of Calvary, you cannot lift the cross of Calvary, but anything else goes, every other flag goes, everything else can be done. But if you serve the God of Israel, you will find you will be persecuted, your children at school, in your workspace, can you go to your workplace and put a Bible on your desk and say to your line manager, in about 45 minutes, outside of my lunch break, coffee break? I'm just gonna read a few scriptures. How would your line manager take that? If you took a Bible in and opened up the Word of God, how would that be in your workspace? I pray that the answer would be they'll be fine with that. Are the children being taught at school? Boys and girls, are the children being taught at school that he is the father of Isaac, Jacob, and Abraham? Are the children being taught at school that God said let there be light and there was? Are the children being taught at school the string theory, every theory, but the Jesus story? Are the children being taught at school correct right and wrong? Are the children being taught at school that God said let there be light and there was, and God created the heavens and the earth and the fullness there was? Are the children being taught at school that it's not about Easter, it's about the cross of Calvary, it is about the Passover, it's not about chocolate, it's not about the bunny, it is about the Savior of the world, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. It's the leader at number 10 Downing Street, like King Nebuchadnezzar. But King Nebuchadnezzar, his life was flicked over. Because God is greater than number 10 Downing Street, God is greater than any nation in this world. God is greater than any church, any establishment. When you look at religion and church and denominations at this moment in time, the majority of pastors and leaders uh want to be celebrities in their own right. They want to be known across the world as the greatest preacher, the greatest teacher. They are looking across the world to get their names everywhere. Certain leaders and certain preachers will only go to certain venues when certain X amount of money is offered. They will only fly first class, they will only be picked up in the best vehicles that that nation can offer. They won't stay in a tiny little bed and breakfast. They've got to stay in one of the grandest hotels in London. See, the church has lost the complete understanding of Jesus Christ. And when you see what's going on, we are living in a modern-day Babylon. Every other God can be worshipped, every other God can be lifted up. But if you are a Bible-believing believer, you will be persecuted at school, you will be persecuted in the ivory towers. When you live your life, if you tell your friends and your neighbors, I serve the God of Israel, the father of Isaac, Jacob, and Abraham, if you let the world know that you are a Jesus follower, you will find that doors will close. You will find if you say that I'm a Jesus follower and our family are Christians, you'll probably not be able to adopt fact. Because if you are strong in your belief, there'll be certain things and certain boxes that you have to tick. And when they see you've ticked a certain box and you don't agree with a certain one, two, or three, you won't be able to do. See, if you are a Christian and what we are now, the word Christianity has been taken too loose. What does it mean? Christ in you. What does that mean? Born again. It's got nothing to do with the Pentecostal movement. We've got to be so careful. Pentecostalism has been given a bad brush stroke. And I know there are certain areas of it that are absolutely crazy. But what do you mean when you say you are a Pentecostal Christian? I believe in the birth of the Pentecost. And that's not the movement. I believe in the birth of Acts chapter 2. On the day of Pentecost, the Spirit of the Lord came down. God came down, the Spirit of God came down. Jesus was already in the room. When you look at all that sort of stuff, he was already in the room. He said, Go and wait. There's a I want you to wait for the gift. He's in the room spiritually. He's in the room, and they was there. He was invisible. The invisible God, the invisible king, the invisible savior was in that space. He said, I won't leave you as orphans. I'm sending you a gift. See, when you look at Christianity, true Christianity, when you look at the persecuted church, 370 million displaced Christians around the world. That is the true church of Jesus Christ. And you know what I'm saying. The persecuted church in Iran, the persecuted church in North Korea, South Korea, China, when you look at the persecuted church in Myanmar, when you look at the persecuted church even in Turkey, don't be fooled by Turkey. When you look at the persecuted church around the world, the persecuted Christian, it's very, very interesting. So we have many King Nebuchadnezzars. The world is almost looking like a modern-day Babylon. But as we live in the UK, when you look at the UK, the UK is representing Babylon extremely clear, and it comes out of number 10 Downing Street. Because number 10 Downing Street is allowing foreign gods to make idols, to bring their own law into the land and use their own law and do what they want. We are living in a modern day Babylon. By the rivers of Babylon, we sat down. By the River Thames, we sat down. By the rivers of Babylon. When you look at the UK right now, but when you look at Meshach, Shamrach, and Abendigo, we're coming to the table in just a few moments. Meshach, Shamrach, and Abendigo, they said, We are not going to bow down to your foreign gods. We are not going to bow down to your idol. We are not going to move to the way you want us to move. Because our God is able. So if your back is against the wall, just remind yourself that our God is able. Whatever our God decides to do, if He saves us, hallelujah. If He calls us home, hallelujah. Because our God is able. So Meshach, Shamrach, and Abendigo, they were filled with the power of the God of Israel. And they said, We're not going to worship your golden aisle. Idol, sorry. We're not going to worship who you are creating. We're not going to worship the gods of this land. We believe in the God of Israel. We believe in the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. And we stand on our faith and we believe. When you look at the church at the moment, the majority of the church in the area of the church, in its denominations, in the way that is it the way that it's moving. It's like Babylon. Because it's doing what it wants to do. It's come out of the instruction. So you've got the monarchy. When you look at the monarchy, the monarchy is a modern-day Babylon, controlled, and the way, and the monarchy is doing what it wants to do with a certain area of the monarchy is doing what he's doing, and he's got away with what he does. You understand what I'm saying in that area. So the monarchy is is covered under the foreign gods, under the satraps. There is a lot of covering up going on across the world. So there is Babylon live and well, Sodom and Gomorrah that is live and well. But if you are a Christian, a Bible-believing Christian, it would be the hardest thing you'll ever do in the world is to follow Jesus. So you take the throne area of the monarchy in the UK and everything, the strands that come off of it, and look at that. Then you take government and you look at the strands that come off of that. Then you take religion and the church, the strands that come off of that. You will find it's woven together. A lot of witchcraft, a lot of divination, a lot of idol worship, a lot of lifting up foreign gods, idols. When you look in a certain demographic of religion, the way they worship, what they lift up, and who they lift up. But God says, I'm a jealous God. I won't share my glory with no one. So Meshach, Shamrach, and Abendigo, they get thrown into the fire. They get thrown into the fire because they would not do what the king, number 10, wanted them to do. They would not allow themselves to serve the foreign gods of the land. They said, We're believers, and our God is going to set us free. So he turns the fire up. The soldiers that take them down lose their life because the fire is so intense. They throw them into the fiery furnace. And if you are a Christian and living in the UK, you are in a fiery furnace. But let me tell you this: he looked over the edge and he went, Who's the fourth one? Who's the fourth person walking around? Let me tell you, Jesus is with you. You might be in a workspace and it's a fiery furnace. You might be at school and it's like a fiery furnace. You might be in a relationship, you might be in whatever it may be, the circle of your life. It is a fiery furnace. But I'm telling you now, God is walking with you, and God will not fail you. Let's not ever bow the knee to a color movement, to a political movement. Do not bow your knee to any foreign God. Do not bow your knee to any occult, to any culture. Do not bow your knee to any rhythm of the world. You bow your knee to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. And his name is Jesus. And he's walking around the fiery furnace of life. He's with you when you're tired and you're weary. He's with you when you're exhausted and you're run down, you're just worn out, burnt out, really tired and exhausted. You're worried about the future, the present, the history. God is walking in the fire of your life. He did not let Meshach, Shamrak, and Abendigo. He did not allow number 10 Nebuchadnezzar to take their life out. It might look like we got no way forward. It looks like as a Christian, it's curtains, it's game over. But let me tell you, the enemy always overplays their hand. And the Spirit of God is with you, whether you're online, in the house with me, wherever you are. Do not worry about the temperature of the furnace of life. Do not worry about what the government are doing because God has you. God is with your children. God is with you. God is everywhere you are. God is omnipresent. He is omnipotent. There is power in the name of Jesus. King Nebuchadnezzar bowed the knee to the God of Israel. And that's what this government is going to do. The government is going to bow the knee to the God of Israel, whether they like it or they like it not. The God of Israel will not share his glory. And if anyone comes against the people and the Bible-believing believers, oh my God, in the name of Jesus, have mercy on their soul. Look what happened all the way through the scriptures. God said, I will be an enemy to your enemy. If you are a born-again Christian right now, and I'm not talking about dancing on one hand, standing on the chair, we understand that being born again has been taken out of true context, and then it's made us look like crazy wacky people. It is, you know, the contents. Oh, you're a you're one of those born-again preachers, aren't you? Well, actually, I am, but I'm not in the way that you see I am. I don't bark and jump up and down like a dog. I don't swing through the church on the chandeliers and doing crazy things. What do you mean you're born again? I'm born from above, so it's out the hands of the church. It has nothing to do with that. It means new life has descended on you that God has saved you, that you are redeemed. I'm born again. Not all that crazy language that's out there. God has saved me. It's that simple. God has saved you. God is with you online right now. Brothers and sisters, we're running over and we're gonna break bread together right now. But when you look at this great text that we're in, I actually believe the UK is Babylon. I believe the leaders of this nation are completely anti-Christ. The way that they dealt with a certain situation in a certain area of London over a certain nation known as Israel. See, they will support every other God that comes across the channel and they will endorse them. But if you are a Bible-believing believer, Orthodox, Christian, you're way down the chain. This nation is a modern-day Babylon. So don't go lifting up the Union Jack, the St. George flag, it ain't gonna save you. What's gonna save you is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. He's your healer. Let's come to the table right now. Father, in the name of Jesus. Lord, we might be living in a modern-day Babylon. But Holy Spirit, I pray for your protection over the children, over parents, over adults. I pray for your protection right now. That your love and your grace will protect us and keep us strong. Holy God, as we live in a land that is full of paganism, devil worship, the occult. Lord, as we live in a land, Lord, where this government is trying to build another tower of battle, where we got many ashela poles, where we got many preachers and teachers building a profile for themselves. Lord, I pray that you'll crush the celebrity church. I pray, dear God, that you will crush, dear God, all that stuff that is going on, and Lord, that you will bring persecution to this nation like we've never seen it before. To get our attention. So, Father, I pray, Lord, that you will bring your glory, your mercy. Lord, I pray that we will never see your wrath. The wrath of God. Oh my goodness, the wrath of God was displayed a tiny bit at Sodom and Gomorrah. When you see what happened at Sodom and Gomorrah, a tiny bit of his wrath was just shown. Dear God, I pray that you won't pass this nation by. As we live in a modern-day Babylon serving foreign gods, many towers of Baal, many ashlopoles, many idols set up through music, sports, celebrity church. Holy Spirit, I pray for this government as we break bread together right now. Please, God, have mercy on their soul. Have mercy on them, Lord. Lord, that we won't have a Babylonian government, that we will have a government that stands on the gospel of hope. So right now, Lord, I take this bread and I take this cup. Holy Spirit, I pray. As you take bread right now, online, I invite you online, sitting in your home, in your kitchen, wherever you are, sitting in your van, sitting in the field. You haven't got to be in church. Breaking a bread is simple. Just grab a bit of bread, grab a fruit shoot or whatever it may be, because it's symbolic. I just want to read something out that I didn't get down to. I didn't, I didn't do this, these scriptures any justice at all today. In verse 28 of Daniel chapter 3, as we come to the table, then Nebuchadnezzar said, Praise be to the God of Shamrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants. They trusted him and defied the king's command. And they were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any God except their own. Do not worship any other God except the God of Israel. I give you my life that God will protect you. If you put God first, the God of Israel, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, I'm telling you now, He will not fail you. He will not fail you in the face of adversity. When it looks like the curtains are about to close, God will show up and get you through. So, Father, bless this bread. Lord, bless this cup. Holy Spirit, we thank you that you're with everybody online. Holy Spirit, we thank you, you're with us in the church. And Lord, I thank you that we ain't got to go to church because we're bored of church. We're fed up with church. We want Jesus. Holy Spirit, bring your glory. But bless this bread in the name of Jesus. Amen. Father, we thank you for this cup. This cup of redemption. You know, there's a challenge for all of us wherever we work. Take yourself a bit of bread and wine. Sit at your desk. Kids sit at school. Oh. Put all the dairy on me. I'll take it all. Don't worry. Give the head teacher my email address and we'll have a little chat. You can break bread at school, you can take a cup at school. You can break bread in your office, you can take the cup at your office. Wherever you are, you can take of the cup and you can break bread and take communion. No one has any right over this nation to tell you or your children you cannot have the Passover at school, at work, at home. Let's do it. Father, in the name of Jesus, cover me in the blood as I take this cup right now. In Jesus' name. Amen. Sisters and brothers. Babylon is here. But let's not bow to the foreign gods of Babylonia. Babylon. Forget the demographics. The context of it is here across this nation. Whatever you do in your life, in this house and online, just tell the world that you follow Jesus Christ. Tell the world that you believe from Genesis to Revelation. Tell the world that you stand with God and God will deliver you. God will deliver you. Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you that you are a God that delivers. But Lord, that requires me to be more faithful and to be stronger in what I believe. So Lord, as we live in Babylon, Lord, as we look across the world and we watch Sodom and Gomorrah and Babylon just woven together in culture and society, I thank you, dear God, that you will protect us. Lord, that there is a way out, and his name is Jesus. So whether you're in the house or you're online, if you are worried about life, please don't lift up the St. George's flag. Don't lift up any flag. Don't lift up the Union Jack flag. Lift up the cross. It's the cross. Put a cross in your pocket, a little palm cross, carry a cross. Get yourself a little Bible, carry a Bible. You know, that's all we need. It's not a time to be patriotic, it's a time to be faithful. It's a time to stand up for what you believe in. Believe in the word of God. Believe that God is your Savior. We are living in Babylon, right here in the UK. But God is with every one of us. Please, it might be a bit heavy today. Might be the scriptures might have been a bit heavy going. But let's just remind ourselves that you are a child of the living God. Online, God loves you. You may have never entered into a church, maybe for weddings and funerals and all that sort of stuff, but God has marked you. And the age is irrelevant. God loves you. I want to tell you right now, God loves you at home, in your van, in your car, uh walking through the valley of the shadow of death, known as Blue Water, wherever you are right now, God is with you. God loves you. It's been given from scripture today. One brother said, God loves you. The other brother said, Do not be afraid. So wherever you live across this world, whatever you do, don't ever forget the foundation. You belong to the king.
